Mend Worcester Greenstar CDi Central Heating Condensing Boiler Pressure

How do you pressurize a Worcester greenstar Cdi condensing boiler. ?

I have just bled a couple of radiators (I switched off the central heating before doing so) but the pressure on my Worcester Greenstar CDi combination condensing boiler has now fallen to zero. I guess I need to repressurise it. I have found the key to the valve under the boiler, but don't know how to proceed. Can you help?

Thank you Bunslinger. I had the same problem - couldn't find my way around the manual but your instructions hit the nail on the head and enabled me to do the job. Thanks again.

Bunslinger, let me count the ways...

Just fixed my system after an afternoon of a cold house and the boiler making funny noises. Was the first time i've ever bled radiators.

Many thanks!!

Hello. First things first, turn the heating off.

OK, if you look at the shaft of the key there will be arrows moulded into the stalk part of it, one either side.

Now look at the underneath of the boiler (pop the tray off if you have to - you should be able to see the brass valves where the pipes go in). Connecting the last 2 valves on the right will be a black plastic manifold with a hole in it big enough for the key. Look at the outside edge of the hole, there will be 2 symbols moulded into the plastic there. One of an UNlocked padlock and one of a LOCKED padlock.

Take the key and stick it in the hole, with the arrow pointing to "Unlock". Shove it in until there is hardly any gap between the tip of the arrow and the edge of the hole.

Now turn the key to "lock".

Next, there will be a white hexagonal shaped knob to the left of the key, turn this to the left. You will hear water running through the link. If water comes out of the hole where the key is, it's not in far enough. Take it out, smear some vaseline or fairly liquid on the o-rings on the key, and try again.

The pressure gauge will rise, you want this to go up to about 1.25 - 1.5 bar. When it gets there, tighten the white nut back up, turn the key back to "unlock" and pull it downwards to get it out. Don't leave it in if you can help it.

Re-set the boiler if necessary.

Now, how much do you love me? I take visa and mastercard xx
