Mend Peugeot 307 Second Turn Bleeping

Peugeot Radio?

I have bought a second hand replacement radio for my 307 peugeot. when I turn it on, I get a repetitive bleeping noise. I wait for it to ask for the code to be entered and nothing happens..I can get stations but I have to put up with this constant bleeping sound.
