video 8 tape?

I have 2 video 8 tapes aprox 15 years old that appear to have tape damage, both for audio and video. It goes the whole length of both tapes and looks either that the recording heads on the camera were damaged or that in time perhaps the tapes suffered some form of magnetic damage, or that possibly they are not lining up to the playback heads correctly. Would it be possible to drop them in to get a second opinion
