russel hob electric kettle glass base?

i bought your electric kettle which has a fault with the handle it came off when lifting with boiling water in it my daughter in law had a nasty burn, unfortunatly we have no reciept now so no store will give us a refund for the kettle it cost me £44-pluss pence can you help please as this was a lot of money and the acident could have been a lot worse. I have at to purchase a new kettle because of this.
