I have the same kettle which has just stopped working. The light comes on but won't boil. Had a look on internet and have discovered certain batches of these kettles have been recalled.
If your kettle is from batch 1206 to 1107 (first 2 digits represent the month, second 2 digits represent the year of manufacture) then you should contact Prestige (Meyer Group) on 0800 6121 405. You will find the batch code inscribed on the base of your kettle.
Mine is 1007, so I will be calling Monday morning!
