my nissan almera winscreen wipers wont stop?

my nissan almera winscreen wipers wont stop. I have changed the wiper switch to no avail, I have been told it could be the relay, if so where is the relay for the wipers i have looked under the bonet and it doesnt seem to be with the rest of them, are there any hidden away?

I had the same problem and read all the advice on these pages. Before you do anything, physically check the 30amp fuse in the box by the battery. It is marked clearly wiper motor.
If you take it out and check it you may find one of the spades has come away or loose. It may save you some time and money.

Can i sand the corrosion off the parking sensor to make it work or replace the motor?

This YouTube clip shows how to remove the wiper motor.

I had problems getting the wiper arms off the spindles. Ended up using a small gear puller and they came off ok. Otherwise a reasonably straight forward job.

My 2002 Almera (Pulsar Hatch in Australia) had the same problem, wipers would not turn off using the wiper switch. Problem was fixed by replacing the wiper motor assembly. The wiper gearbox is failing to give the signal that it has reached the park position so just keeps on going. I purchased a second hand unit for A$85 as Nissan no longer stock the part. The best they could offer was a later model part for A$500, plus an extra A$280 for a new wiring harness to adapt the new part.

in all cases its always the wiper motor the only way to rectify this problem is to fit a replacement it is a design fault which lays with nissan water gets in to the motor as it is not sealed properly pity nissan could not think of that

I cant seem to get enough leverage to remove my wipers (at least without cracking the cover.) This is the cover on at the bottom of the screen. As I cant see any other place with the motor & relays I'm hoping this is where it's hidden. Any suggestions?

what age is your almera? mine is 2003 and has the same fault that the wiper's do not stop until ignition turned of. I cannot find any relay's around bonnet catch, mine are placed under the bonnet, on the driver's side seem's all the relay's but the wiper!!!!!. The point that the wiper,s reset themselve's each time the ignition is turned off point,s toward's a relay sticking, but where are the Bl****y relay,s. Sorry about that, but have spent a lot of time and effort on this to no avail, hoe someone can help.

Found the problem! If you take the wipers off completly, take the cover off to expose the linkage and wiper motor, then remove that. At a right angle to the actual motor is the drive mechanism. Remove the cover, and this is the time to be patient, take the lock washer off the inside of the white plastic disc. Underneath you will find three contacts, and on the white plastic part removed a metal contact disc. Either one or all three conacts will be damaged or, like mine the contact disc will be corroded. (Clever nissan people made it out of steel). Fortunatly I'm an engineer and managed to produce a new disc, (Made off brass this time) otherwise a complete motor will have to be brought. Hope this helps others with the same problem.

I am having the same problem with mine. The relay is behind a cover next to the bonet release lever. It's the relay on the far left. But I replaced mine and it didn't solve the problem. I will keep trying and won't let it beat me, and when I crack it I'll post it on this forum.
