Mend Nissan Almera

Airbag Indication flashing issue on a Nissan Almera 1.5 hurricane52 plate?

slowly getting angry with this issue....tried the switch on then wait for light to go off, count to 4 secs and repeat 3 times through, then on again for 1 second...thing is now, the airbag indication lamp is flashing slower (diagnostic mode apparently)
Did the "let it flash slowly for 10 seconds and turn ignition off, count to 5 then...Shazzam...nothing!" still the same, but now its stuck in diagnostic mode (slow flashing...anyone have any ideas?
Seems its a Nissan related issue which apparently they know about!

Lisa,

I don't know if it would? you could try but knowing how different French Cars are to Japanese makes, the sequence in which you get the airbag into the diagnostic mode may be different?
Try this method to get the airbag indication lamp to the diagnostic stage:
1. turn ignition key on (don't start the engine but get all the warning indications illuminated) then turn it immediately OFF at the start of the red flashing airbag lamp, count to 5 then switch ignition back ON then OFF.
2. carry out No1; 3 times through till the airbag lamp flashes slower.
3. now turn the ignition ON, let it flash slowly for about 10 seconds and turn ignition OFF...(this 'should' have rest the LOGIC sequence for the airbag lamp) count to 5 and turn ignition back on again...if that procedure worked, when you turn the ignition on and start the car...the airbag lamp will light up then go out...
If that doesn't work, follow the instructions that I added previously!
Good luck....and a lot of patience is required..

Would this work for a Renault Megane Cabriolet? My airbag warning light is always on and I've had it checked out and apparently it's a common fault on this model as wiring is under the seat and everytime somebody has to move the seat forward it sets it off???
Due for MOT next week and one of the new failures is service lights on the dash (although until March you only get an advisory).

cheers buddy for the top tip...(cdc)
1. Checked all wiring seemed good and plug connectors.
2. Checked for any breaks in wiring....none found
3. Top tip though...and it was only by shear luck;
4. Locate the fuse for the airbag (10A) on the drivers side access via the small drop down stowage.
5. Turn ignition on, but don't start engine (warning lamp checks illuminate)
6. Just as the airbag indication goes out, remove the fuse...only do this if the airbag warning lamp is flashing slowly.
7. Now turn off the ignition...
8. Replace fuse...
9. Turn on ignition....Shazzam! the airbag warning lamp illuminates then goes out, and stays out.
10. To doubley check that it doesn't come on again, start the engine and monitor airbag lamp as it initially lights then goes out.

check seat belt pre tensioner wiring under seats, make sure there is a good connection there, try unplugging then reconnect
