vauxhall combo L reg glow light not lighting?

hi help help please,ive got a problem with my van ,the other day the tyre preasure was low so i got old tyre inflator and plugged it in to my cigaratte lighter and it worked briefly and cut out,i went to try and start the engine and the glow light did not light up but does briefly when the ignition is fully turned ???,the engine turns over but im not getting the glow plug light to stay alight enough to heat the plugs any help would be very gratefully recieved many thanks scott
