transit 2001 dti?

I have been away and came back to my frozen transit. And water was every where i have had a look and its the core plug on the back of the block.
Is this a job i can do or will it need to go to a garage
ican only do minor jobs (if engine needs dropping then i cant do the job) just need to know can a novice person do it
