Mend Nissan X-Trail Noise Turn Right

rubbing noise when i turn right or brake in a Nissan X-trail?

when i steer right or brake a loud noise that sounds like the tyre is rubbing off the wheel arch can be heard. The faster the car is moves the faster the rubbing noise is. However the tyre is about five inches clear of the arch so it isn't that. The noise can be heard as soon as the streering wheel is turned. The further the steeering wheel is turned the greater the noise. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem may be?
