Rangemaster electric cooker issues?

Hi there,
I picked up a rangemaster 110 electric cooker last year at a good price 2nd hand.
I come to install it the other day and it kept tripping the RCD in the CU.
I put a 100ma RCD in instead of teh 30ma, still tripping.
I then decided to try the oven by-passing an RCD and the cooker then worked, BUT it has still got issues.
When i put a few items on, on the, the clock goes dim like its struggling for power and some devicve on the cooker then dont work.
Any idea what would be causing this?
40MA using 10mm cable by the way. RCD is 30MA, but 100MA made no difference.

Hi there,
Voltage drop was the cause yes, that is now sorted.
But still got the tripping of the RCD. I run it (everything on) for around 20 mins, is that long enough to make a difference or does it need a good hour for everything to dry out?
It has been stored for a fair while.
I was playing around with it in the consumer box and as soon as the neutral cooker wire touches the neutral bus bar, the trip goes, its damn annoying.

you need to test the voltage at the connector whilst you turn on various parts.there should be a constant voltage.any drop would indicate a bad connection or volts drop due to distance although 10mm cable in good condition on an average run should be ok.as for the tripping,if its been stored for a while the elements can get damp and cause the power to go to earth hence trip operating.they need drying out.by running it with trip bypassed should achieve this.switch on all the oven elements to dry them all out and then try reinstalling the trip/rcd
