How do I get the tracking to work on a Fidelity 4-head PDC VCR2320NF?
The tracking is really bad on this machine, particularly when I try to play a tape that's been recorded on one of my other (different) machines. The picture scrolls round in a similar way to a TV when the horizontal hold has gone - although the fault is not with the TV. It's impossible to watch, although the sound is fine.
clean the A/C head, check the machine is not crinkling the tape edge, if so you will need a new pinch roller.
