i cant release drum nut on my hotpoint bwd129?

the drum nut is so tight, cant shift it...i want to see if bearings have gone...so noisy sounds like im washing plates!!

You can check the bearings without removing the drum. With the door open try lifting the front of the inner drum - you will feel if there is play between the inner and outer drums - if there is, your bearings have had it!
