Mend Peugeot 406 2.0L HDI Power Hdi

Peugeot 406 Power Loss?

I have an S plate Peugeot 406 2.0L HDI which is is losing power when I put my foot down.

Everything is fine until about 2000rpm and then it feels as if the car just doesn't want to go.

High pressure hoses were replaced a few months ago following an indication from the Engine Management System.

There can be a bit of a smell of diesel from time to time.

I'm answering my own question here, but the problem turned out to be a fuel pump problem. £300 quid later, i'm back on the road
