Mend Hotpoint EW81P Hob Ring Works

EW81 Hotpoint Halogen hob only outer ring works?

On my front right hob of my hotpoint ew81p, only the outer part of the ring works. It is the 1800W halogen hob.
Is this in need of a full replacement of the ring or is there another cause for this issue?

Mine has just exhibited the same fault. Also it stays on all the time whatever the setting is on the control. It does cycle on the ceramic limiter but the control knob has no effect. I am assuming from this that it is the control that is faulty and NOT the ring. I just need to find out now whct the part number for the replacement is and how much I will be ripped off for it?
