Mend Peugeot 205 Fine Cold

How can i fix my heating on my Peugeot 205?

The heating in my Peugeot 205 has failed for an unknown reason.
The blower works fine, but I can only have it on cold. The actual dial just refuses to turn to hot.
I've tried taking the dial off and turning the knob with a pair of pliers (as I thought it may just be stiff), but it won't budge.

Any help?

the solid cable that connects the right hand knob with an airvalve at the left of the stove, has bent, and cannot be fixed, it needs replaced. I just recently bought the entire controlpanel (with the 3 rotary controls, and the cables attached) for 10 euros. Replacing is easy, takes a half hour when you do it for the 2nd time.
