ok my bobin has been working till recently, i have noticed that the machine seems to only be going in reverse and if that is the case that solves the problem but starts a new on can you help

You have not said what make or model you have, if you have a push button reverse make sure the button is out and you have set your stitch length, e-mail me below with further information if you can.
