Mend Zanussi zwf 1621w Blockage Drain Pump

Washing machine blockage?

I have a Zanussi zwf 1621w and when it is finished its wash we get 2 x beeps and some of the water isn't drained.

A check of the manual indicates that the pump may be blocked (2 x beep error code).

The manual says in the bottom right corner of the machine, open the service flap, use the emergency drainer to empty the machine - done all that - machine is emptied.

It then says to remove the pump impeller cap in the bottom right of the machine - done that - it then says to pull out the pump itself and remove any blockage - i can't do that!

Like i said i have removed the cap and behind that is the impeller, but i cannot remove it - it won't budge. Any ideas?!

thanks for the info. Now i know it has to come out, i got a screwdriver in and prised it out - fortunatley without breaking it!

Yes, it was full of limescale and crap.

It's currently going through a wash cycle now, so fingers crossed!

But, one question, how does cleaning that filter help in draining the water?!

sounds like you have pulled the cap/handle bit off the filter body.If you have not clean this then it may well be STUCK full of crap and limescale.sometimes you have to break the filter out and replace it when it gets to this stage.It does just pull out but with nothing to hold on to it is difficult.that filter body has to pull out by whatever means you can find and as I said before breaking it is the last resort but sometimes the only way.you should get in to the habit of removing and cleaning it once a month to stop this happening again
