Mend Hard Start Mower

my riding lawnmower takes off hard and fast?

When we start the riding lawn mower it seems to take off to the point that I hang on, then it goes fine. How do I adjust the take off power at point 0-1?

Has someone adjusted the brake on your mower?
If it's set too tight, it doesn't release before the drive belt
tightens to engage the transaxle, resulting is a jack-rabbit
start. If the drive belt has been replaced with a belt that is
too short you'd get the same problem.
