dimmer switch problem?

on selecting full power on my dimmer switch my light flickers quickly yet on low or half power it is okay.

Well there are not many things to go wrong... The power is good because the light comes on...The Lamp is good because the light comes on...Perhaps the Dimmer may be faulty? If you have changed anything recently i.e. added several more lights to that particular dimmer circuit then that might be the cause - otherwise be very suspicious of the dimmer itself.
