Hello there!
Have you checked the carbon brushes and cleaned all the contacts around these brushes?? Bad connections are frequent in these motors.
Have you carried out resistance checks between earth ensuring ther's a high resistance?? A low resistance will show that a short is occuring.
if the relays are dammaged or broken, a simple check over the coil and contacts when starting up the motor will show fault. youd expect a low voltage on the coil and high on the contacts. i'v not heard of relays in washing machines for the motor so i would be suprised if it was them.
One last thing, if all above fails a good smack with a large sledge hammer always helps in some way.
Good luck!
