yes by the sound of it.to prove this take the lid off.start the machine (growling)and now manually push the drum to start the rotation.if it continues to run after manually pushing it to start then theres a very good chance it the capacitor at fault.if it doesn't start after manually pushing drum then you have a seized motor or idler wheel.PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN DOING THE ABOVE AS MAINS ELECTRIC IS EXPOSED AND BE CAREFUL NOT TO TRAP YOUR HAND.safety first diy second Harry Greene
