the dial seems to get stuck but not always at the same place, the other day dishwasher went on for 8 hours, can you help please?

HI Debbie,
If the water in the dishwasher is not heating up,then you need to replace the heating element, this is what is causing the machine to hang in the wash cycle, this is a common fault with these units,
