Mend Ariston AFA 250 Times Help Reset

Ariston AFA 250 beeps 4 times?

Can anyone help. My Ariston AFA 250 does nothing if I switch it to wash, but when I put it on "reset" it beeps 4 times and the salt light starts flashing. I use tablets with descaler in them so it has never needed salt, although I used to put it in when it was new many years ago.

Thanks skye, unfortunately I got a new dishwasher before I read your answer, so I don't know if the door switch was the fault. I wish I'd waited a bit longer. Hopefully this will help someone else with the same problem.

have found the problem, it was the door lock. it was beeping to tell me the door wasn't shut properly. have ordered new lock online
