Mend eMachines T1801 Cd Drive Computer

How can I remove CD drive on my Emachines model T1801 desktop?

I have an emachines desktop computer model T1801
the cd-r drive is no longer working I bought a new drive for it but when I went to remove the old one I couldn`t because of the fact that the drive can`t be taken out because of the tray door being large to slide back through the opening of the front of the case.

anyone have any ideas of how to remove it or any special tools I could use ?
