how can I fix my ford fiesta 1.8d ghia 1996 p reg?

car won't start,even with a jump start,it wants to turn over but after 30-40 secs,it then dies a death!!...is this a repair I could possibly undertake myself??

you need a new battery, even with a jumpstart if the internals of the battery are knackered you still will not start it
