F28 Error on 5 year old Vaillant Ecomax 828/2E boiler?

My Ecomax 828 has went exactly the same. First noticed a slight pop/bang when boiler ignited. Probably due to delayed ignition but otherwise then worked OK.
Then last week our CO alarm activated. Checked the cooker and lounge fire.The last thing I expected was the room sealed boiler.
Found the air inlet had melted. Some fixing nuts on the burner cover had worked loose due to the gasket disintegrating. Extremely dangerous and appalling Valliant have not made this design fault public.
Will be reporting this to the HSE.

Just to add mine was no gas ceck you got credit on your boiler

We were getting this on our Vaillant Eco Tec Plus boiler. As it was so cold, the water was freezing in the plastic outlet pipe. Disconnected the pipe so that the water dispenses in a bucket (i.e. so that it doesn't even need to go outside) boiler worked fine the next morning, but not straightaway I have to say. Bucket is a temporary measure of course.

I have just encountered the same problem, hopefully now it has been sorted.
The problem was a design fault with the silicone gasket around the burner cover that disintegrates and has been replaced by a graphite one. The only problem is that not only does the plastic air pipe melt but also the aforementioned burner cover warps and lets the intense heat escape.
There is a flange replacement set available for around £55 part no 88134. This requires immediate attention by a gas safe engineer as could be dangerous.

my boiler has f28 and i have no water coming out of my hot tap any ideas.
