Need to fix my Bissell Proheat 2X-9400-4 Series Steam Cleaner?

Have checked everything. Reprimed pump several times. Appears the heating element may be clogged because I have left the machine standing for a few days without removing the cleaning solution container and I read where that can turn into powder in the machine. The machine is cleaned after each use, but the cleaning solution container has been reseated because of planned reuse. How to clean heating element? Long way from a service center. In the center of Missouri.
