Is it safe to use my shower without a pressure valve

yep, long screwdriver with small philips head is all you need. Thanks to these replies we just completd this job in 15mins. All now working fine and ready to go again if pressure builds up due to (her) not descaling it as part of her weekly chores. Mind you she might blow a valve on reading this ha ha ha

Actually the shower company help line was very good too!

a pain as once this blows you need a new valve.

You can easily fix the safety valve by taking the cover off the shower (ensuring power is isolated first) remove the shower hose, then undo the 2 screws that hold the white plastic outlet part in place. They're a bit trickey to get to (look from below and you'll see them). Once removed carefully push the small plastic/rubber ball back into the slot there's a grove to get a screwdriver in. Replace the shower head with standard and you should be ok... worked for me!

Its a safety pressure valve that appears to fail when in-comming water pressure is increased, nothing you can do about that or if you fit a different head to that supplied with the shower that can be adjusted, this blows the pressure valve also' Same happened to me and I'm just ordering a new outlet pipe from Shower Warehouse Pt No 201-00731 Outlet Pipe (PRD) Short
