how can i fix my indesit dishwasher?

my indesit dishwasher dv62 k ix fills with water but does'nt start cycle it sticks and makes a humming sound, water inside machine still cold but elements really hot

I had a similar problem and it was the motor. Water had somehow got onto the winding. I got it tested then rewound at a local engineering shop for £20 but to buy a new replacement is very expensive.
