When you take off the inspection plate should the fuel pump be visable. My car is the 5 door wrx impreza turbo. It just wouldn't start one day although the engine is turning over, no fuel gettin to it??????

See how that goes and let me know. If you remove the inspection cover and get someone to place a long screw driver on top of the pump assembly and place an ear on the handle turn on the ignition and they will hear it if it is buzzing. I'll check on here for you.

The Subaru fuel pump inspection cover is located in the boot on the right hand side immediately behind the seat back. It is similar in shape to a 6x9" speaker and screwed down with 4 screws. The fuel pump can then be seen in the tank. If it is a 'classic' shape Impreza remove the back seat and locate the multi plug on the drivers side. These plugs tend to overheat and lose connection causing the pump to stop working. cutting the plug out and Joining the all the correct wires together would cure this. Obviously if everything else is in order then a new pump will be required.
