Mend Dell Load Drive Starts

Iwant to load vista onto an external drive ?

without having an internal drive at all, I can boot vista and starts loading but when it comes to install it asks for a driver for the external disk (maxtor ide) I have searched and searched, not overly sure if I need dell or maxtor driver and can't find anything relevent for either. Hope someone gets back to me

Thanks for that jamie, but xp will not load onto an external drive as far as I know and I have no internal one, thats why I'm forced to use vista

Stick to XP & you shouldn't have any driver problems.
