How can I fix my Frister Rossman sewing machine?

The hand wheel and clutch knob will not release. The clutch wheel seems to keep tightening as I sew and now I cannot release the clutch wheel in order to refill my bobbin. I have used WD40, a rubber hammer (!) and still no luck. Help????? Thank you.

Hi, I have a F+R cub 3, but the release for bobbin winding would not release. Found your reply, and it worked, but in getting to it the outer section twisted off, and came away, and a ring inside fell out. I now don't know which way to put this back. It has three 'ears' on the outer side and two prongs on the inner part of the circle. These prongs are at right angles to the flat of the ring. Do I have to push the remainder of the handle in whilst threading back the outer part? do the prongs go inwards? does it matter which way up the ears go? Hope this makes sense. Thanks (in anticipation)

Hello Osbear,
Undo the screw in the stop motion wheel, you will notice that the stop motion wheel has grooves all the way round or should have, looking at the stop motion wheel fron the end face on, get a large screwdriver, put the blade bit on one of the grooves on the left hand side, with one hard thump on the handle of the screwdriver it should free off the stop motion, when you have turn the stop motion wheel just hand tight and tighten the small screw again, e-mail me below if you have any problems.
