2001 Ford Focus Zetec 1.6 Coil Pack?

My local Autosupplies has stopped supplying aftermarket coil packs, the quality is terrible and they fail regularly.
Genuine Ford ones (cost me £107 over the counter) seem to work much better and have so far cured the poor running problem on a 2004 1.6 Zetec Focus. I hope!
I work on classic cars and the quality of parts especially from India or Asia is dreadful; rotor arms last about a week.
Buy the best replacement parts you can and the chances of fixing the problem are much higher.

try and after market coil,as ford had so many fail that they were still selling the same spec faulty ciol at least up to 2006

IT'S NOT ONLY FOCUS RANGE WHICH HAVE THIS PROBLEM BUT FIESTA AS WELL.FUEL PARTS DO A REPLACEMENT FOR APP £20/25(CU1007) BUT BEAR IN MIND THE HIGH FAILURE RATE IS DOWN THE FACT THAT IF A PROBLEM DOES EXIST IN THE IGNITION, SPARK PLUGS,LEADS AND COIL PACK MUST BE CHANGED AT THE SAME TIME.IF THIS PROCEEDURE IS NOT FOLLOWED THE FAULT CAN ACTUALLY TRAVEL BETWEEN THE 3 PARTS(COIL,PLUGS &LEADS) AND LEAD YOU TO BELEIVE IT'S DOWN TO THE COIL.

IF YOU DO REPLACE EVERYTHING AT THE SAME TIME THE IGNITION/RUNNING PROBLEM WILL BE SOLVED

If they are from a Ford outlet take it up with them, they do have a high failure rate but what you have suffered is crazy
