I have a peugeot 807 53 plate, and the handbrake needs adjusting. After just spending £400 on the oil cooler and power steeering I'm loathed to spend more on something simple.
Word of warning. Don't as I did look under the handbrake and twist the plastic grip as it will release the handbrake.
Not a good idea when under the car on a slope!!!!!

There is a plastic piece underneath the car close to the handbreak. With the handbreak off twist the plastic piece about 90deg which will release its grip of the cable and the cable will slide inside. Twist back again and it will re-grip the cable. Job done!!!

Its in 3 parts. A small length from the lever then splits into 2 with the longest length going to the n/s caliper and the shorter to the o/s caliper. There is a 13mm nut you can slightly adjust for the o/s but its more of a balancing for n/s vs o/s. Generally they are fixed. If you are having trouble check the fitting behind the caliper. You will find a lever and a spring so give them a good clean and a squirt with a penetrating lub. If you have to take the caliper off split it in two removing the two bolts and give that area a good clean too. The caliper pistons might need to go back a bit but dont try to push then because they twist back in clockwise and dont forget to loosen the brake fluid resevior which can be found hidden away awkwardly back near the bulkhead on the passenger side. Before you reasseble the caliper put some copper ease on the piston face and in the pads groove..NOT ON THE DISKS. Dont forget to use nut lock on the caliper bolts and the 10mm nut for the cable lever if you take it off.
