Mend Drayton RF1 Thermostat Batteries

Drayton RF1 Thermostat - Blank display?

Have replaced batteries in my Drayton RF1 but display remains blank. Am I looking at a replacement unit or is it a simple problem?

I've solved it! I accidently pulled the left battery draw completely out of the RF unit and noticed that one of the battery terminals on the inside of the unit had some light corrosion. Cleaned it off, replaced batteries and hey presto! the unit is now working. Phew! that's saved £80 odd!
