Mend Drayton Thermostat Stopped Working

home heating thermostat?

We have a Drayton Digistat RF 1 Wireless System, and it has stopped working. We have tried to change the batteries, but can't get the battery compartments open - any knack to this, please?
Otherwise, anything else that can have gone wrong with it ? - there is nothing showing on the screen.

When you say compartment(S), I'm assuming you have the older thermostat (large display window) -/+ buttons underneath.

With a small screwdriver, push the slots backwards as you lever them down, you can remove it from the wall (one screw underneath), if it makes things easier.
