Mend Honeywell 4073A Diverter Valve Central Heating Hot Water

honeywell 4073A 3 position diverter.how do I fix this?

My Diverter valve is not changing from central heating
to hotwater. there is a manual over ride,but nothing seems to happen when it is moved to divert flow.
The motor gets very hot,as if it has electric current going to it.
The radiators get hot okay,but water out of bath tap is tepid.

Your valve is stuck in the mid to central heating position. To check this turn off the isolation switch to the appliance and check to see if the manual override lever returns to the left position looking straight on. Unless you are able to strip it down a new one will be required.
