EP2000?

Hi - I have the same problem in that the EP 2000 unit seems to be screwed up. The CH and HW display only come on when the HW timer is on. If you say - set the HW timer to 08:00 to 14:00 and 18:00 to 22:00 the CH light only comes on during this time even if you set the CH to 24 hours. If you set the "time Set" to be on from say - 00:00 to 24:00 then the hw is on all the time but the CH works fine. As soon as switch the HW off the CH won't come on. It's as if the HW setting is controlling the total unit. I think it's time to change the EP2000

Sounds like the motorised valve is passing.
