how can i fix my piaggio zip 50?

My zip only kickstarts, when I press electric start nothing happens and once Its started the only thing that works is my lights. (petrol gauge, oil gauge, horn and indicators don't work) anyone know the problem?

my piaggio typhoon starts and runs for about 15 seconds and then stops if i wait for a couple of mins it will start again and stop

i have a piaggio zip 50cc 2000 and it was workin fine.. i fitted a new throttle cable and carbrettor and now when i start my bike it will not stop revin up and will not stop... can anyone help me please

i had the same prob mine was back firein with flames wen cuttin out so i was told to get new plug an now its fine 60mph all day long

i have a piaggio zip 2002 the day i got it it was working fine i reved it up a few times messing about the next morning i took it for a little spin was working perfect had a bit of petrol left in it i took it bk in after 10 mins i tried revin it again an it made a wierd noise an the lights were going after about 5 mins of trying to start it the lights started going dim an finally they finally went out an would not start at all could the battery need recharging

hi i had this problem too, there are a few things to do, you can chage the magnto coil, which is under the fly wheel. Difficult to get off so i advise getting a garage to do this part for you.next is the htu block on the front of the engine. May also need replacing and finally the spark plug. To replace all three of these items will cost approximately £130. Mine cut out one day on me. Very embaressing but after replacing these it has been great. No problems at all!

Hi i am having the same problem but the kick start was working previously but the electric start wasn't working couldn't hear anything before so i checked the connection to the spark plug and now i the kick starts not working and the electric start cuts out and the bikes not starting. I need some help thank you.

i have 2000 reg piaggio zip 50 , it cut out on me other day, i have changed the cdi/coil unit and it fires twice n cuts out can anyone help me?

well, im assuming that you have tried starting it up on both the electric and kick start and it still doesn't start. If the engine turns over but it won't start then it could mean that you need a new spark plug, take out the old one and see if it has any oil on it, if it has then i will advise you to kick start it without the spark plug in, that will shoot out any oil that is still inside, and clean up inside the hole and kick it again, keep doing this until no more oil comes out, put a brand new spark plug in and kick start it, as soon as it fire's up rev it very high to keep it going, and ride it around for half hour on high rev's, do this until there is no blue smoke coming out. it should be white or clear smoke coming out. when you feel that you have done it I also advise you to get a single treatment of redex and put it in your petrol tank to clear out any dirt or old oil left in you engine because I have a piaggio zip 50 and the same thing happened to me. hope this helps you.
