Mend Cyberhome Player Power Up

Cyberhome DVD Player won't power up?

I have a Cyberhome DVD Player that won't power up. It's been plugged into different plugs in the house, but no success. Is it worth fixing or would buying another be cheaper. The player is only 2 years old. Don't know if this is a common problem with this brand.

Basic answer: Power supply board. If if it's just a player, it's not worth repairing. If it's the player/recorder it might be. I had to have my player exchanged about 4 times before I received one that the power supply did burn out. You've had yours about two years, that's a record.

Is it a CH DVD 400 by any chance? Mine did exactly the same.
Apparently there was a problem with the power boards in a massive batch of them from May 2003. I am surprised yours lasted as long as it did.
I took mine back to the store after nearly a year and they gave me my money back no probs.
Or you can try to get the power board repaired;

Assuming you are in the UK, have you checked the fuse in the 3-pin plug? Obvious, I know, but sometimes it's that simple!

A new DVD player can be bought for as little as £25, which probably means any repair will not be economic.
