Yes it could be your firewall if you suspect that it is Ads which you are not seeing. Many firewall programs have ad blocking features. Try turning these off.

I use Zone Alarm. If you have Zone Alarm click on the privacy option and turn Ad Blocking to off. See if this makes any difference.
