Mend Daewoo Refrigerator Freezer Cooling

Freezer working, fridge not?

What's going on here?:

Daewoo Fridge Freezer. The freezer is working - in fact, it's freezing things too cold. The fridge isn't getting cold at all, even with the thermostat turned to maximum. The fan behind the freezer is operating and the radiator pipes at the back are warm.

My theory is that somehow, cold air is meant to be circulating from the freezer to the fridge. Is this right?

It may be significant that a) the freezer baskets are all broken, so all the freezer contents are piled into the bottom basket and b) It's got quite frosty in the freezer.

You most likely have an ice build up stopping air circulating try an overnight defrost, if that improves things, defrost for 24 hrs.

I have the same problem with my FRS2431 (Daewoo fridge):
- the drawers are broken
- the fridge is warm (almost room temp) while the freezer is working just fine (this model has only one motor)

It seems that the vent for the fridge stops working; and as a result the temp rises. This makes the compressor go on all the time...
It is still under warranty but the service guys give me the runaround (oh this is perfectly normal- you need to defrost it every two months) and by the way this is a "no-frost".

I found that restarting the fridge (pull the cord, count to 15, plug it) works, Microsoft inside !

I had the opposite problem with my fridge freezer (Kelvinator) - fridge working freezer not. It turned out that there was a relay within the electronics which co-ordinates both fridge and freezer using the same coolant motor. Problem may lay there! It could also simply be a fault on the fridge thermostat.
