Mend BT CX1500 Time Months Settings

How do I change the time and date on my bt freelance cx1500?

I have had this for a few months now and originally the settings were correct now they are not and i never know when messages have been left as the time/ date is wrong does anyone know how i fix this?

ok incase there is anyone else out there with the same problem i have figured it out to change the day and time setting you hold down the volume down key then you use the up and down to select the day and press play to confirm.

sorry should have been more specific it's the answering machine and not the handset.
