how to empty a mondeo fuel tank?

I have a R reg 1.8i LX ford mondeo verona and the tank is half full and I need to take it off the car how do I empty the fuel tank.

That's a hell of a lot of fuel and a hell of a fire risk! You'll need some large capacity proper petrol cans to collect the fuel. I'd get the local garage to do it if it was me.

Can't you drive it and use up most of the petrol first?
