i have a peugeot 307sw which is getting wet in the footwell?

my 307 sw is getting wet when it rains in the passenger footwell. it is not from the heater , and is not coming in through the engine bay. it is collecting in a void next to the footwell and seeping in. can water seep down from the roof rails ? the door seals look grand , i have tried hosing the car with someone inside but cant see anything . any ideas the car is stinking from damp , cheers
