Dryer isnt heating up indesit WDN 2196 WG washer dryer?

on my indesit washer dyer model WDN 2196 WG, the dryer isnt heating up, its spins as it usually does but its not drying the clothes, aslo worried that clothes are not getting washed properly as water isnt heating up

the drier is like a fan heater on top of the machine on mine fan didnt work so the heating element would overheat and cutout switch would operate -fitted new fan (about £12) working fine ! if your water isnt heating up that would be a seperate problem as the kettle style element is underneath at the back - unplug at mains before working on machine very dangerous if power on !
