My trimmer will run for a few seconds and stop where do i start to look for the problem?

I had the same problem and it turned out to be the fuel lines needed to be replaced. they were old and cracked so they were sucking air. cheap fix and easy do it yourself. Maybe something to look at, hope this helps.
