230v to 110v via in-circuit transformer?

simplest solution would be a standard site transformer.availiable from screwfix,machine mart etc.plugs into existing mains and you can either change US plugs to din standard or have US outlets.Has the advantage of being tested and removable.Have one myself set up for 110 tools.Three outlets at back of bench.Make sure tranny is rated to maximum tool wattage.
