Sony Trinitron keeps blinking on and off?

unfortunately it's now on its last legs so to speak. i had the same problem so took it to a local TV repair shop. he said that where the TV had been turned on and off over the years the Tube inside it had virtually boiled itself. he did what he could but said he had no idea how much longer it would keep working and that it couldnt be repaired anyfurther. mine lasted a few more months before the problem came back. it deteriated slowly before it was pretty much unusable. My advice is to get it repaired first. it only cost more about £10/20 to keep it going a few more months. in the meantime, save up for a new TV. make sure its not a secondhand tube TV or it will do the same pretty soon

if the is a detachable power cable have you made sure it is securly connected
